Prepping for Middle School Math

Getting ready for middle school math!

In 6th grade students will be building off of concepts that we learned in 5th grade to prepare for the study of ratios.

Khan Academy:

Three different courses are offered that will help students prepare for next year:

  • 5th Grade Math (If you would like your student to revisit all of 5th grade content, they can do that in this course)

  • Get ready for 6th grade math (This is a shorter course that will revisit some 5th grade topics that directly support the major learning focus for 6th grade).

  • 6th grade math (This is the full 6th grade curriculum if your student is feeling like they are ready to start 6th grade content).

MathAntics

This site has helpful tutorial videos and exercise videos that help guide students through different concepts in math. It is not laid out by grade level, but by topics. This is a great site to review old and learn new content. Most of the content is used up to 6th grade.

  • Supporting clusters help support the major clusters

    • Students will spend some of their time in these standards
