Lowell-Forker

I currently teach Contemporary World Problems (CWP), Civics, World History, and Art at Secondary Academy for Success.

I am the proud mom of three awesome Northshore-raised kiddos and include in my family several "god-children," and many kiddos that have been in my life and in my classroom that are still like my own. You are warned from the beginning, I care about you already and might not let you go either! I am so blessed to have best friends that have become a precious part of my family. I would describe myself as a bookworm, a collector of people, a gardener, a lifelong learner, and a traveler. I love learning and teaching is just an extension of that for me.

Students, even if you think that I am OLD and unrelatable, as a former student, I can relate to what you are encountering, both the freedom and the challenges of being a teen, at having the rest of the world in front of you and yet still not able to be and do everything that feels like just in arm's reach. As a parent in the Northshore School District from 2002 to the present (elsewhere before that!), I understand what your parents are experiencing, both daunting and exciting, as they do their best to support, love, and keep up with you in this crazy world. I look forward to walking alongside you and your family on this journey.

I grew up as a kid in Southeast Asia, traveled the world, attended boarding school, tended to lepers, bathed children in orphanages, and served with Mother Teresa in food lines. Although this feels like a lifetime ago, there are some things that were imprinted on me and have never been forgotten from these important experiences in my life, such as my desire to make a difference and a change in the lives of those around me! You are my mission, my hope, and my dreams for our future, and I aim to challenge you in every encounter to take on my commission to be a world-changer!

I am excited to partner with you in your personal growth and learning this school year. My experience has taught me not only the gifts there are in teaching, mentoring, and serving you and your families, but there is also so much you bring to me by teaching me to slow down, think deeper, grow, change, give more, listen and live in the moment! I am so excited to get started! Let the journey begin!
