Meet the Team!

My name is Erin Hartley. This is my 7th year in the Fernwood Elementary Library. I have enjoyed the connection of being in person this year! So much excitement for students to get their hands on physical books every week as well as continuing to use our technology resources.

There were some exciting changes in the library starting with an updated biography section: people are divided by reason for being "famous"! Athletes, scientists, musicians, govenrment, etc. Our fairy tales, folk tales, trickster tales, etc. (398.2) are now found in the picture book section divided by continent and author.

Students have access to our digital library resources from home. I can't wait to spend more days with students going forward.

Hi everyone!  I am Mrs. Hurey and I am the Library Assistant/Tech.  I work primarily with Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade this year, but you may see me around the library doing lots of other things.  

I was born near Chicago and grew up in Illinois but have lived in Washington for 20+ years.  My family consists of myself, my husband Ryan who is a Computer Engineer, my son Connor who studies engineering at The University of Idaho, and my son Wyatt who is a Sophomore at North Creek. We also have a dog named Cassie.  

When not helping to check out, checking in, or shelving books, I like to read and make quilt tops.  I also love baking, hiking, and traveling. This summer, my family went on an Alaskan Cruise.
