By the time Mrs. Pzak turned 17, she had moved 9 times. It didn’t matter what state she was in or what continent she was on, there was always one constant in her life - her annoying siblings. Wait – no, books! There were always books. In fact, Mrs. Pzak’s mom used to complain that Mrs. Pzak’s allowance should just be sent directly to Scholastic for the monthly book order or the annual book fair because that’s where it all went anyway. (Mrs. Pzak’s mom probably would have been happier about this except for the fact Mrs. Pzak's very first Scholastic book order in the 2nd grade delivered a Halloween Joke-of-the-Day book. Mrs. Pzak’s mom declared it the longest October ever.) Anyhoo, Mrs. Pzak pursued another love of hers (food!) for a college degree at Purdue University (#BoilerUP!). She spent several years managing cafeterias, then a couple working in human resources, a few more as a writing consultant, and after kids, ten years volunteering in elementary, middle and finally, high school libraries. She even got to help run the most successful Scholastic Book Fair in the history of her children’s elementary school. When asked about the success, Mrs. Pzak claimed, “I’ve been training for this my whole life.” Needless to say, being offered the opportunity to work in the WHS library, aka, Mrs. Pzak’s Happy Place, was a dream come true (even if her kids claim she’s spying on them). Mrs. Pzak is always happy to talk books, take recommendations and generally knerd out about anything. Just make sure you sign in first, k?
