JB Schwartz - Head Coach

Hello, I am so glad that you are here! I have been coaching with the Warrior soccer program since the spring of 2017 and was named the head coach of the girls team in the summer of 2019. I have always had a passion for soccer, which has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I enjoyed my playing career, which took me to Manchester College in North, Manchester, IN. I found, however, that I enjoy coaching even more. Coaching combines my passion for soccer with my passion for teaching. My desire as a coach is to help my players to be successful. Yes, this definitely translates to the field where I hope we are successful as a team. This also translates to life. My hope is that being a part of the Wasilla High School girls soccer team will encourage and enable each student-athlete to be successful on the field, in the classroom, and in life. I teach PE at Finger Lake Elementary School, attend Lazy Mountain Bible Church, and live in Palmer with my beautiful wife, Ruth, our wonderful daughter, Emma, and our awesome little boy, Ethan. Go Warriors!

Fun Facts:

• I hate coconut. The taste is okay, but the texture is awful.

• I love to read, which sounds really cool and intellectual. However, the truth is that I mainly read epic/nerdy fiction books like Harry Potter. I have to force myself to read biographies. Sir Alex Ferguson's biography was pretty great if you are a soccer fanatic.

• My wife, Ruth, is a phenomenal cellist!
