In the BSP class, students will earn points each day for being safe, being responsible, being respectful, and achieving their personal goals.
All students will start at "base camp". Students will earn points in 30-45minute increments throughout the day. Students will be able to earn achievement time (or reward time) halfway through the day and at the end of the day if they have achieved 80% of their points for that segment of the day.
When students achieve 80% of their points for 10 consecutive days, they will move to "the climb". In this phase, they go to lunch, recess, and specials with their peers.
When students achieve 85% of their points for 2 consecutive weeks, they will move to "the summit". This means that they are able to go to lunch, recess, specials, and block with their peers.
When a student achieves 90% of their points for 3 consecutive weeks, they will remain at the summit and earn their way back into academic classes.
If a student commits a safety violation, they will be moved back down the mountain one level.
Safety violations include
-Physical Aggression
-Verbal Aggression
-Elopement
-Constant disruptions that impede class progress
