Colony High School Robotics - Palmer, AK
What does the club aim to do?
Our robotics team aims to grow our knowledge in robotics and teamwork skills. We strive to show not only each other but other teams a high level of respect, while also creating a fun and encouraging environment for anybody that would like to join our team!
These videos linked above tells - in detail - about the challenge and talks a little bit about what FTC ( First Tech Challenge ) is.
The Colony Knights Robotics Team is made up of middle and high school students who are passionate about robotics and technology. We work hard to prepare for annual competitions, always striving to build better robots, become stronger team players, and foster technological innovation. Our motto, "WE WILL BUILD BETTER ROBOTS, TEAM PLAYERS, AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATORS," reflects our commitment to improvement and unity.
Our mission is to build an effective robot that is not only good at executing its job but is also easy to maintain. We will try very hard throughout the season to win matches and be sure to have fun while doing it. Our execution of both our mission and our goal will be accomplished with a team of 8 members and 2 mentors.
Creativity and innovation are central to our team culture. We encourage each other to think outside the box, embrace new ideas, and explore unconventional solutions. We believe in the power of technology to positively impact our community and the world, and we are committed to using our knowledge and skills to create meaningful change and contribute to a better future for all.
The Metal Knights work to help the FIRST Lego League ( FLL ) teams build their programs and progress by judging competitions and mentoring the Cyberian Huskies from Academy Charter School.
The team also promotes robotics in the community by hosting robotics competitions and a tech event at the Alaska State Fair yearly.
