Shadieh is currently a Lecturer of art history and humanities at Sierra College, Folsom Lake, and American River College, as well as occasionally lecturing at California State University in Sacramento. She has received her M.A. in Art History from UC Davis, with the focus on European Renaissance and Baroque, particularly with regards to the Middle Eastern influence in the European art of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Her Master's Thesis is on Rembrandt's use of Persian costumes to create distinct identities for his biblical characters. Shadieh has a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Critical Theory in Art, from the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts. Her dissertation is entitled "Philosophy of Power and the Mediation of Art."
Shadieh has also curated several art exhibitions and is a practicing artist. Her field is two-dimensional arts, and her main medium is oil on canvas. However, her more recent works are in pen and ink. She is also the creator of a documentary called "The Stories Art Can Tell," which focuses on the importance of arts and humanities education.
