Prompting

In Advanced Composition and Critical Thinking courses, we use this article to see logical fallacies in action. I ask AI to identify the article's logical fallacies. It comes up with five. I prompt it to identify more. Then more. Then more. 

This process is similar to the Instagram trend where the tool is prompted: Show me more X. 

Instructions:

Go to Copilot, put in a series of ingredients: tofu, gummy bears, conversation hearts, and brown rice, and see what Valentine's Day menu ideas it offers.

 Then, ask it for additional suggestions.

 Keep prompting it to get new menus.

Researching

Perhaps you have heard the radio segment that asks whether one's paramour's last name would be an upgrade or downgrade from their current name. 

Instructions:

Use Chat GPT to compare your Valentine's last name with your own.

Optional:

Use ChatGPT to do some reconnaissance

on your SO. Prompt with her/his/their first and last name and any other details, including city, profession, etc.

Practicing

AI can complement our efforts to learn and grow. 

One tool is PopAI. I can use it to generate a PowerPoint as I am teaching the villanelle form for poetry in a Creative Writing course. Likewise, students confounded by, for example, the Toulmin Schema in College Composition can ask PopAI to generate a study aid to help them to see key ingredients of the argumentation structure.

Instructions:

Use your prompting skills to ask PopAI to generate a ten-slide PowerPoint with three reasons why someone should date you... Make sure to "feed" the tool with information about you.
