Week 1-2 Developing Academic Literacy Skills: How to Respond to Texts?
Before engaging in our reading and writing assignments, there will be a module dedicated to developing effective academic literacy practices; specifically, the assignments and learning content in this module will provide a learning opportunity for you to practice reading and writing strategies to help you know how to respond (write) about a reading in a professional, academic, and sophisticated way. In this module you will learn to distinguish summary, analysis, and synthesis writing. You must complete this module before moving on to the next modules. 

After week 1-2 We begin working and learning from our free online textbook. I will assign a reading on a specific topic from our free online textbook. You can access our free-online textbook here: Intermediate Reading and Writing (Al Haider) - Humanities Libre Texts or if you prefer the google docs format, with extra workbook practice, click here: ESL-Intermediate-Reading-Writing-OER-Book.docx - Google Docs. I will selectively choose which exercises we practice, depending on your learning needs.
