The Goal of Kaneko Gallery at American River College is to be a venue for the exhibition of many different types of art for all of the students, faculty, alumni, and the community at large.

*To offer the students and the community an opportunity to interact with exhibiting artists through the planning of diverse exhibitions, artist’s receptions, guest lectures, workshops, and open forums.

*To introduce to this community college a wide variety of cultural and artistic expressions through many different types of art.

*To enable students to learn in a hands-on environment how to manage exhibitions in a gallery setting.

*To bring to the college a method for a visual dialogue by exhibiting all kinds of art, from traditional and historic to contemporary and controversial.

Kaneko Gallery at American River College is a unique and special place. The goal of Kaneko Gallery is to work in partnership with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community to provide a forum for artists to explore meaning and boundaries in a variety of ways. Remembering that Kaneko Gallery is a reflection of ARC’s standards, the gallery is to be an accessible venue for discussion, learning, dialogue, and appreciation of art for all.
