Virtual Field Trips and Recent Research in California

Geographers William Selby, Jing Liu, and Robert O'Keefe invite you to follow us through our many field trips, stories, and research projects as we make our annual contribution to this year’s CGS Conference. We are again sharing a wide range of free informative experiences that should appeal to physical, human, and regional geographers and anyone interested in geospatial studies. We also hope to partially satisfy those who are longing for field trip experiences until we meet again in person.

Recent contributions range from geospatial research projects about mushrooms in the Sierra Nevada, to public transportation issues in Los Angeles, and from a series of stories tracking some of our weather patterns, to analyses of our neighborhoods and forces shaping our physical landscapes. From climate change to urban geography, we have included something for every California geographer. We also encourage you to contact William Selby at wselby@smc.edu if you have questions about one of our postings or would like a more personal tour through one of our stories.

We continue to encourage our colleagues and exceptional students to add their research projects and geography stories to this project as it evolves: https://www.rediscoveringthegoldenstate.com/
