To accommodate social distancing under the recent California quarantine order, the Kaneko Gallery is hosting its 2021 Annual Student Competition Exhibition online. We look forward to seeing what you have been creating the past few semesters and hope that you will consider submitting to this free student contest. Any questions about this contest can be directed to kanekogallery@gmail.com or woodp@arc.losrios.edu.
Please review the guidelines below and use your Canvas email address to log into and fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
All students who are currently enrolled or were enrolled in the spring, summer or fall of 2020 are eligible to submit.
Each student can submit up to five pieces of original work.
All visual art media is accepted, including painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, jewelry, digital art, fibers arts, and fashion. Video and interactive performances are not accepted for this show.
Your submission images should be high-quality JPEGs, suitable for redisplay on our website.
The image size and resolution should be at least 72 dpi (preferably 300 dpi), and no larger than 10 MB of images per piece.
Please label your files with your last name, underscore, and a number. For example: Wood_1.jpg or Smith_1_View_3.jpg. This is very important so we can properly title your work.
The images should be primarily of your work and not have distracting backgrounds. For two-dimensional works, please crop out the background so the photo you send only features your piece.
Here is a list of information and items you will need in order to fill out the form:
Basic information about you: your E-services email address and password (also used with Canvas), artist name, contact information, etc. If you are having difficulty logging in, the Los Rios Information Technology Help Desk is available to assist with passwords during business hours at 916-568-3012, option 5.
Detailed information about up to 5 pieces of your work, including the artist's name, title, medium, dimensions, year, and price (if the piece is for sale).
