Eori Tokunaga (They/Them/ She/Her)
Artist Statement
Eori Tokunaga is a visual development artist, illustrator, and storyteller whose work is heavily influenced by her background in social work and child development. Her work often tries to tell a story in a warm light that feels approachable and enticing for both young children and older adults. Her body of work ranges from editorial illustrations with the American River Review, to visual development and animation with the Short Production Team under the guidance of Professor Matthew Stoehr. Although she tends to employ warmer colors in her storytelling illustrations to evoke positivity and warmth during a time of isolation, Eori has recently explored more creative forms of digital painting, particularly with capturing fleeting moments of life through an abstracted lens.
