The BARR model is entering its second year of implementation at Apollo High School
The model supports the transition between 8th and 9th grade, with a focus on the whole student
All 9th grade students are placed in a cohort of roughly 90 students with 3 or 4 shared teachers
Student data is continually being reviewed as a means to direct additional support
Teachers meet twice a week to review data, discuss student needs, determine interventions, and ways to capitalize on student strengths
Students experience one I-Time lesson per week; these lessons engage students in social emotional learning which is instrumental to their success
The BARR advisory committee is looking for parents or guardians of 9th grade students interested in becoming members.
Please email Cindy.Rimnac@isd742.org if you are interested in learning more about BARR.
