Media Center Information and Policies

Book Checkout

Students in grades K - 1may check out one book at a time. Students in grade 2 may check out up to 2 books and students in grades 3-6 may check out up to 3 books. Students may not check out more than 1 graphic novel at a time. Students are allowed to check out 1 graphic novel at a time (741 call number). Books are due after 2 weeks. Books can be renewed as long as there is no one on the waiting list to read the book.

Class Lessons

Each class will visit the media center once every other week for 30-45 minutes for Media Center lessons and book check out. Students will visit the media center on alternate weeks for book check out only. Students in older grades will also work on research projects and coding projects with Mrs. Mittelbrun.

Lost/Damaged Books

Although there is no fee for an overdue book, books that are lost or damaged must be paid for on or before the last day of school. Checks should be made payable to Falcon Heights Elementary school. Only exact cash payment is accepted as change cannot be given. Students will not be able to check out more books until overdue books are returned and / or fines are paid for lost / damaged books

Refunds can be given if a book is found and returned before the end of the school year.

Individual Visits

Students may come to the library with a library pass to exchange books.

Staff Book & Equipment Checkout

Staff may check out as many books as they like for a period of 30 days.

​All equipment must be checked out daily and returned by the end of the school day.

Chromebook and ipad carts are available for checkout as needed. Please use the computer lab sign-out link in the Staff links part of the district web page
