Background

The project curriculum development for sustainable seafood and nutrition security (SSNS), which is co-funded by EU Erasmus+ Programme has been implemented by 13 partners. The goal of the project is to contribute to achieve sustainable seafood and nutrition security (SSNS). The specific objectives of the project are to (1) develop new specialized curricula and innovative MSc programme on sustainable seafood nutrition security thus helping build the capacity off the partner’s countries HEIs, improve the level of competencies and skills offered, and address the existing absence of a similar programme; (2) Promote cooperation, exchange of know-how and good practices in the subject area between EU and PC HEIs; and (3) Establish viable synergies and links with the regional aquaculture and fishery industry in order to address their needs in specialized personnel in SSNS, training needs and enhance the employability of SSNS graduates.

IPB has established a Research Centre of Excellence (RCoE) Sustainable Seafood and Nutrition Security. This centre was approved by the Dean of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences by the decree No 83/IT3.F3/HK.00.03/2019. The RCoE has an office and laboratory where all equipment purchased are installed.

Objectives:

- To conduct research on sustainable seafood and nutrition security

- To promote sustainable seafood and nutrition security

- To update curriculum development to support sustainable seafood and nutrition security based on research and community engagement.
