Make-Up Work....
...can be found on the Schoology page for each course. Each course has a designated page, and most work will be posted on this page. Slides for each week are posted. Open the slides for the week in which the absence occurred and find the slides for that day. Information, links, and assignments will be contained on those slides.
Skyward
Grades will be updated weekly in the Skyward system on Fridays. An asterisk (*) means the assignment has not yet been graded. Please be patient, as it may take a few days after an assignment is submitted to get a grade entered. On the other hand, a "0" means the work was not submitted or was not submitted properly.
About Me
I graduated from Concordia University in St. Paul with a degree in Secondary Education Language Arts. I earned my Master's and Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Last year I finished my 27th year of teaching. Over my career I have taught every level student from 6th grade to college seniors. My wife and I have four children and five grandchildren. We moved to Fairmont in 2015.
E-Learning Resources
Like most information on the class, other E-Learning Resources will be posted on Schoology. They are usually grouped with the assignment to which they apply. For example, a posting or assignment on Walt Whitman will be accompanied by videos explaining his biography and his themes. Videos presenting his poetry may be included. Sites that explain how to interpret poetry can also appear. To find these additional resources, go to Google Classroom.
Student Help
Read and Write: Below is a video that will show you how to add Read and Write to your extensions. This will read text to you. Use it if you are struggling with reading any text.
Voice Typing: here's a video to another source of help. This will type your words as you dictate them to the computer. This might be very helpful in responding to discussion prompts.
