Activities may be completed standing, seated, or with support (chair, wall, or adult help).Β
The goal is movement, participation, and effort.
Hereβs a simple, independent, at-home DAPE lesson designed for elementary students that uses household items, builds locomotor skills, object control, balance, and cardio endurance, and can be completed without adult help.
Time: 20β25 minutes
Equipment:
5β8 stuffed animals, shoes, or pillows
1 ball (or rolled up socks)
1 laundry basket or box
Paper plate or towel
Tape or string (optional)
Complete each movement for 30 seconds:
March in place
Arm circles forward and backward
10 jumping jacks
Reach down and touch your toes 10 times
10 big slow hops
Place objects around the room to make stations.
Zig-Zag Path β line up shoes or stuffed animals to weave through
Jump Zone β a pillow to jump over
Balance Walk β a line of tape or string to walk on
Slide Spot β paper plate/towel on the floor

Balance Walk
