Hello, my name is Katie Emerson and I am going to be your child's new second grade teacher! This is my 15th year teaching and my 9th year at Weaver Lake Elementary. I have taught First Grade, Kindergarten, Third Grade, 2nd/3rd Grade Split Level and was a Reading Intervention Teacher.

Teaching is my passion and I love to watch students grow socially, emotionally, and academically! I want my classroom to be a place where students take chances and develop a love for learning. It is important to me that all of my students enjoy school, are active learners, and take pride in their accomplishments!

A little bit of background information on me... I attended University of Wisconsin- Stout for my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and I received my Master's in Education degree from St. Catherine University. I love spending my free time with family and friends but especially with my son Landon, my daughter Hazel, and my husband Chris! I enjoy sports, reading, traveling, any type of outdoor activities, and going to sporting events!

I am excited for another year to begin! 2020-2021 will be a great one!!
