We have lots of volunteer jobs in the media center. Contact Edinbrook's Volunteer Coordinator to apply.
Circulation Information
Students visit the media center with their home room or reading group teachers.
Students may also visit the media center independently, when they need a new book.
Kindergarten and first grade students may check out one book at a time.
Second - fifth graders may check out three books at a time.
Students with overdue books are not allowed to check out more books until the overdue books are returned.
Student's parents/guardians will be asked to pay a fine for lost or damaged books.
Overdue notices are sent home bi-monthly.
Fine policy (Lost/damaged books)
Students with an overdue book cannot continue checking books out until they return their overdue book. (For most kids, this means they try again tomorrow or next week. Not a big deal.) We really just want books to be returned or renewed in a timely fashion.
Students who have a book that is overdue by a month or more may be assessed a book replacement fine. Students have two options to get the fine removed from their records.
Students can pay the fine - send cash with their name in an envelope to the media center.
Return the overdue book to the media center.
Once students have paid their fine or returned their overdue book, they will have normal checkout privileges restored.
When an overdue book is returned the fine is deleted.
Students who lose multiple books in a school-year will be asked to either keep their books at school or only checkout paperback books. The teacher, student, and media specialist will determine that plan together with the family.
