Distance Learning

Makerspace Distance Learning

Hi Woodland students and families!

I miss you! I love my job because I get to see the excitement and curiosity that you have in my classroom. I can't wait to see you again soon. In the mean time, I hope I can give you some activities to look forward to.

I will post assignments each week for specific grades under the corresponding grade tab. These are the tasks that I have picked for that particular grade based on math and science standards. It is my hope that, when we get back to the classroom, this will help us stay on track. I intend on giving options for students so that they can pick what best matches their learning style, and that can be supported by resources available to you at home. I do not expect students to "hand in" anything to show that they completed the work. That being said, it's difficult to not have face-to-face time, so if you are super proud of a creation I would love to see a picture. You can e-mail me at kari.wolter@district196.org. If these activities help occupy your mind in a productive way feel free to do as much as you want! I will post general resources/activities (under "STEM for all!" tab) that any student can use/do. If you are unable to complete the weekly assignment, please choose any of the other activities posted here to complete. I hope you find these resources helpful as we navigate this unique time. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please reach out! This is new for all of us and I am here to support in any way possible.

All the best!

Ms. Wolter

My office hours are 9-12, but I check my email often throughout the day. We can always set up a Zoom conference as well.
