National Art Honor Society

Membership includes the following

become a member of a distinguished group of 58,000+ outstanding art students
gain peer recognition, leadership growth opportunities, college and career preparation, and a sense of camaraderie
are eligible to apply for the Rising Stars Secondary Recognition Program Award (Juniors and Seniors)
are eligible to apply for the Charles M. Robertson Memorial Scholarship and scholarships to Columbus College of Art and Design, Maryland Institute College of Art, and The Art Institute (Seniors)
have the opportunity to be published in NAHS News (the semiannual, full-color digital publication of the NAHS program). Artwork submitted for inclusion is often used in other NAEA publications!
eligible to submit artwork for possible inclusion in the NAHS Juried Exhibition held at the NAEA Studio & Gallery.

Meetings

September-June 2024-2025
Watch the Activities & Clubs board int eh main hallway or the TV montors throughout the school for more information on meeting times and locations.

Students will participate in new business, updates, old business, and a volunteer activity.

Volunteer hours can be accumulated over the course of four years alongside membership, resulting in lettering in the arts, and a rainbow cord for graduation.

2024-2025: Year of Painting and Folding!
- Completing painting of treasure boxes, coin banks, and automobiles for children
- Working the snack stand at Basketball and Wrestling matches
- Aiding in a creative space for the Asian Student Association props and painting.
- Valentine's Day origami, flower bouquets and deliveries
- Yearbook cover design entries

2023-2024: Year of Service!
- Completing painting of treasure boxes, coin banks, and automobiles for children
- Working the snack stand at Basketball and Wrestling matches
- Creating and making the drama dragons for She Kills Monsters play.
- Valentine's Day origami, flower bouquets and deliveries
- School mascot design ideas
- Yearbook cover design entries

2022-2023: Year of the Murals!
RHS has asked us to complete 2 murals this year. The first one has been designed, approved, and sketched out so we can start painting. The second one is still in development.

2020-2022 NAHS members helped paint the art room mural on drab 1970's cabinet doors.

PSA: Don't Text & Drive

NAHS members helped paint signs for the annual mock car crash at RHS. Headlines of a distracted and a drunk driver, and a banner about the death rate of someone being killed every 15 minutes due to distracted or drunk driving was displayed at the scene.

Helping RHS Custodial

NAHS members helped out the RHS Custodial and Maintenance Departments by painting logos on their transportation carts.
