During our first year as a BPA Chapter at Rosemount, we had some pretty great achievements! There were a total of 10 members. John (Jeb) Blair, Grade 12, ran for Regional officer and won. He served as our Region 2 BPA president this year. We also had a problem with our former Region 2 host location (Century College) so Rosemount High School hosted the Region 2 competition back on Jan 8, 2022. It was really fun to see our RHS students feeling instantly part of the BPA community as hosts!
This year six Rosemount students qualified for State BPA in Mpls (regional results Jan 2022)
Siah Borbor Gr 9 (placed 2nd in Interview and 1st place Web Design Team)
Allison Boche Gr 10 placed 3rd in Interview and 1st in Web Design Team)
Jalen Freeman Grade 11 (placed 1st in Economics Research Project)
Kidus Assefa Gr 11 (2nd place Entrepreneurship)
John (Jeb) Blair Gr 12 (1st place Global Marketing Team)
Ibrahim Ibrahim Gr 12 (1st place Global Marketing Team and 3rd place Ethics and Professionalism)
At the BPA State Conference in March 2022, the following students qualified for Nationals:
Jalen Freeman – 3rd Place in Economic Research, 5th place in Management, Marketing and Human Resources Concepts and Top 10 Computer Concepts
Ibrahim Ibrahim – 5th Place in Global Marketing Concepts, 3rd place in Ethic and Professionalism and 7th place for Global Marketing Team, State community involvement award (State Torch Award)
John (Jeb) Blair –7th place in Global Marketing Team, BPA State community involvement award (State Torch Award) Region 2 President recognition.
Results after BPA Nationals - May 4-8 2022 in Dallas TX:
Jalen Freeman – 3rd place in Management, Marketing and Human Resources Concepts (out of 322 competitors!! Amazing!! He is an 11th grader so look out next year!)
John Blair and Ibrahim Ibrahim were honored with a National Ambassador Torch Award* for their community involvement throughout the year. *It is like an Eagle Scout honor.
