RHS takes pride in having a quality and sophisticated ceremony. We ask our graduates to celebrate this formal ceremony with the following recommendations:
Cap and Gown Details
To provide a formalized group ceremony that celebrates our school/district's academic achievements, only approved regalia that is a result of an academic honor by participating in a District 196 program or that is cultural regalia approved by school administration before graduation, can be worn at the ceremony.
No other cap or graduation adornments should be worn other than those provided by the school/district. Do not alter or decorate the caps and gowns – You will NOT be allowed to wear them in the ceremony. (Students in the District 196 American Indian Education program are permitted to bead caps.)
Footwear
Comfortable shoes for standing and walking should be worn. Dress shoes or dress sandals, flats or wedges are recommended. If you wish to wear heels, we advise you to wear wedge or platform style (no stiletto heels).
Clothing
We encourage you to dress in business casual or semi-formal attire. You will be at RHS, riding on a bus, and then in the arena (which is air-conditioned). When not in your cap and gown, you should be dressed for the formality of the occasion.
Please dress appropriately for the day’s temperature.
Personal Items
Please only bring keys, wallet, and your phone. No bags are allowed. All individuals attending the ceremony (including graduates) will enter through metal detectors.
Etiquette
Dress for the formal occasion
No beverages, food, or chewing gum
Storage is not available for purses, bags etc. on the bus or during the ceremony
Do not bring items that would distract from the ceremony.
Everyone has worked hard to get to this celebration and should have an equal opportunity to be recognized and celebrated.
Diplomas will be handed out on Monday, June 1st from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at Rosemount High School at the front of the school near the Main Entrance. After June 1st Diplomas will be able to be picked up in the Main Office.
