Below you will find helpful solutions if you are struggling to access videos on this site.
Please contact Mr. Schrick (not your classroom teacher) if you have trouble with the PE Distance Learning site.
Some students are having a difficult time playing videos on this site during peak learning hours. Here are some things to try that have helped (unfortunately, they have not always worked).
Make sure to use Chrome when trying to watch videos on our specialist sites (art, music, library, and phy ed). Safari does not seem to work during peak learning hours. FYI, your iPads will default to Safari when opening a link.
Students should log in to youtube.com using the email address associated with their school account (@apps.district196.org). Double-check that you’re not logged in with a personal account at accounts.google.com, and make sure you're logged in on your device (iPad or Chromebook) or Chrome browser with your school account (@apps.district196.org).
If possible, use a personal device (tablet, computer, phone) to access our specialist sites during peak learning times. We understand that not everyone has access to another device, but it seems like school-issued iPads are having the most trouble accessing our videos during peak learning times.
I will do my best to provide a PDF document on your grade-level page for you to use when completing the activity (you can complete the daily activity without using the video). I understand the lesson videos provide additional help for students, but if all else fails, do your best using the PDF document.
If you're still having trouble, try accessing the site during non-peak learning times. Unfortunately, many of these issues come from the amount of traffic on the internet with everyone working from home (jobs and school).
I realize technology can be very frustrating when it's not working correctly (and immediately). Distance learning is new territory for everyone, and we are working quickly to find solutions to these problems. Thanks for being patient and helping us to find the way.
