Listen to the story "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. I love this story because when Vashti feels frustrated in art class, her teacher encourages her to make a mark on the paper - this begins her journey into discovering that you can make beautiful art with just DOTS. It also teaches that you can do anything that you set your mind to doing!

Now, it's time to create your own dot! If you have coffee filters at home (and it's okay with your adults) decorate one with some markers or paints! If you don't have coffee filters, draw a large circle on a piece of paper and decorate it how ever you would like!
