Recorders

Care for your recorder

  1. Keep it in a safe place where pets and small children can't get to it. 
  2. Wash your recorder in hot, soapy water and let it soak for 10 minutes. Rinse it off and let it air dry. (Every 1-2 months or if sick).

Practice your recorder


Try to practice 10-15  minutes each day to keep yours fingers and brain remembering their jobs!

Recorder Rules

  1. Left hand on top.
  2. Cover holes completely.
  3. Use warm, soft air.
  4. Always tongue the notes (too)
  5. Sit/stand tall.



Recorder Testing


  1. 3rd grade will test in person during class.  Check for new assignments. 4th grade will use Schoology or in person during class.
  2. Practice your song for testing 10 times (good playing) before you actually test and video your playing.
  3. You need to play the music without notes written on the music to earn your belt.
  4. You need to earn belts in the order listed below.
