Our crossing guards help students get to and from school safely each day and are an important part of our school community.
Interested in joining the team? Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about becoming a patrol.
Students have two shift options when applying to join the school patrol team.
YMCA School Age Care (SAC) students may leave SAC for their morning shift and return after their afternoon shift.
Morning patrols should arrive at Echo Park by 8:50 AM.
Patrols arrive before the buses, so families must arrange drop-off.
Afternoon patrols will leave Echo Park at 4:00 PM.
Patrols are dismissed after the buses depart, so families must arrange pick-up.
Arrive at Echo Park at 8:50 AM.
Leave Echo Park at 4:00 PM.
Patrols will need transportation to and from Echo Park.
Note: Students are typically assigned to either a morning or afternoon shift. Only in rare circumstances will a student be scheduled for both.
Up to 14 morning positions and 14 afternoon positions are available.
Our patrol team helps ensure students and families have a safe way to and from school each day.
If you will be absent or leaving school early, it is your responsibility to notify the school. Families may call the main office or email Mrs. Robson or Mr. Egan.
ALWAYS wear a rain jacket (provided by Echo Park).
If there is lightning, patrols will stay inside and help within the building.
