Joel Beyer has been teaching in the Vocal Music Department at Apple Valley High School since the fall of 1999. In those years he has had the opportunity to direct every one of the curricular and co-curricular choirs at one time or the other. He currently directs Valley Select Choral, Ragazzo Cantanti, Choraliers, Chamber Singers and Women’s Ensemble. He also serves as vocal director for the annual fall Musical. Prior to his time at AVHS, Joel taught in his native North Dakota at Newburg, his hometown of Bottineau and in Grand Forks. During his time in North Dakota he served as President of the state chapter of ACDA. Upon his move to Minneapolis he sang professionally with the Dale Warland Singers for four seasons. He is a graduate of North Dakota State University and did his graduate work at the University of North Dakota.
Reid Larsen currently directs Valley Select Chorale, Ragazze Cantanti, Troubadours, Men's Ensemble, and Varsity Edition along with serving as Vocal Director for Broadway. Previous to his current role, Reid was a Choir and Theater director at Cottage Grove Middle School and an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas. An active member in ACDA, he co-chairs the annual 7th-8th Grade TTB Honor Choir and previously served as the Repertoire and Resources Chair for Middle School/Jr. High Choirs in the state of Minnesota. Previously, Reid presented at the ACDA National Conference, the North Central ACDA Regional Conference and served as guest clinician for the University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Middle Level Honor Choir Festival. Reid holds a Masters in Music Education from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
