Tech It Out! - Transfer Your Digital Files From DISD Google Drive to Your Personal Google Drive Using Google Takeout*

It is that time of the year when teachers are soon retiring or moving. We hope you are not leaving us at Dickinson ISD, but we do understand that sometimes life takes you other places. We want to make sure you have a smooth transition with all your Google digital files. This has not always been an easy process, but Google has made it easier.

One option you can consider using is the Google transfer feature that lets you take your school Drive files and transfer them to your personal Drive. It is FREE and easy, but can be time consuming - steps below.

Recommendation: Transfer ownership of any files your colleagues may need next year! Then purge and clean out your Google Drive FIRST!! It will make the transfer process more efficient. Don’t think I’ll do it later after the transfer!!

Be sure your personal Google Drive has sufficient space!

*Depending on how many files are involved, it could take a few days or up to a week or more, so plan ahead!
