Mission Statement: The mission of the school library program in Dickinson ISD is to enable our students to be effective users of information and to encourage them to grow into life-long learners and readers so they can become successful members of their communities. The goals of this mission will be accomplished through:

● activities that foster an appreciation for books and the experience of reading;

● access for students and staff to information in a wide variety of materials and formats;

● modeling and teaching the skills needed to acquire information and use it effectively and ethically; and

● collaboration with teachers to provide learning experiences designed to meet the needs of the students.
