Middle School Transition Q&A
Students may enter the building beginning at 8:40am. The homeroom bell rings at 9:00am.
All students have the opportunity to eat breakfast each day. If students would like breakfast they will enter the cafeteria to get their breakfast and when finished they report to homeroom.
Roberta Road Middle School does not have lockers. Students will carry their belongings in their backpack to and from class. Students will have access to a P.E locker to put there belongings during gym.
Students will be assigned a Chromebook at the beginning of the school year.
Students will bring their charged chromebook and charger to school each day.
Students will carry their assigned chromebook to all of their classes.
Students are responsible for taking good care of their assigned Chromebook, and following the Acceptable Use policy.
To make things a little easier and more familiar, students are separated into teams. All the students on one team have the same teachers for their 4 Core subjects, and these teachers' classrooms are located in one section of the hallway.
Students will have one of the team teachers for homeroom. Teams sit together during lunch, and other special events like assemblies and pep rallies.
Homework varies for each class. Each teacher may assign homework each night.
Teachers plan for students to complete their assignments during the time provided in class each day.
Students who do not finish an assignment during the class time provided are expected to take it home and complete it for homework.
Students will have 4 Core classes and 1 Encore classes each day.
When it is time for lunch, students will eat as a class with one of their core teachers.
When it is time for Encore, the whole grade level will travel together and release to Encore classes.
Students wait for their teachers to dismiss the class and will transition on their own to their core classes by lining up outside the door of their next class.
Each grade level has a separate lunch time. Students will travel to the cafeteria with a core teacher. Each teacher is assigned a designated seating area in the cafeteria.
There are 3 lunch lines. One features a homestyle meal, and the other two offers fast food and grab and go type meals. Fruits, veggies, and drinks are available in all lines.
Dress code is published in the RRMS Student Handbook. View it here.
