Cabarrus County Schools recognizes outstanding high school graduates based on GPA in three honor graduate categories (GPA is exact and not rounded up). Cords are awarded to students to wear at graduation.
Summa Cum Laude (gold cord) = 4.32+
Magna Cum Laude (royal blue cord) = 4.0 - 4.319
Cum Laude (red cord) = 3.625 - 3.99

2 Credits of a World Language
4 elective course credits in any one subject area, such as:
CTE, JROTC, Arts Ed, World Languages, or other content area
3 higher-level courses during junior and/or senior years which carry quality points, such as:
AP, IB, Dual Enrollment CCP, Advanced CTE and CTE courses; Honors level courses
GPA: 3.50 unweighted GPA minimum
