Each student is issued a Chromebook for instructional use. Teachers and students will also have access to iPads. Teachers will look for frequent opportunities to embed and integrate technology into the curriculum. Students AND parents must sign the CEBES Student/Parent Technology User Agreement in order to have full access to technology. Students will be required to adhere to all county and school technology guidelines. Failure to adhere to those guidelines could result in a students’ access to technology being revoked. The technology form will be sent to parents through Parentsquare to complete.
While each classroom has Internet access, parents must sign the ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY giving permission for students to log onto the Internet. Teachers may use selected Internet sites for instructional purposes with the entire class. Students who do have parental permission are monitored closely while they work on the Internet. Students are not allowed to access the Internet without teacher supervision.
Student's Personal Technology: Students may have their cell phones on campus during the day if needed; however, cell phones are NOT to be used while on campus. They must be turned off and kept in the bookbag of the student. If a student has a smart watch that has cell phone capabilities (texting, call out, apps, etc), it must be turned off and in the bookbag as well. We cannot allow the technology to interrupt the learning environment here at the school. There are specific rules for testing days for our upper grade students related to electronics. On these dates, electronics are NOT allowed at all in the classroom environment. This is CCS Policy.
