Advanced Placement (AP)

AHS is proud to offer four Advanced Placement courses for the 2022-2023 school year (Psychology, English Language and Composition, and Statistics).  Advanced Placement or AP is college level courses taught in our high school by our faculty.  Taking AP courses can help you acquire the skills and habits you will need to be successful at the college level.  At the end of the year, students in AP courses will be encouraged to take the AP exam, which could earn you college credit.  Research shows that 1).  AP students are more likely to graduate from college in four years - students who take longer to graduate at public colleges and universities can spend up to $19,000 for each additional year.  2).  AP helps students qualify for scholarships - 31 percent of colleges and universities look at AP experience when determining scholarships.
