These book award lists are provided every year by the South Carolina Association of School Librarians. Students can compete in the Battle of the Books competition by reading these books. There are also prizes awarded at the end of the school year for reading 5, 10, and all of the books. Students must pass the quizzes in order to receive prizes or compete.
To be eligible to compete:
Only students who read the Children's Book Award nominees can compete in the actual district competition.
Read at least 5 of the 2022-2023 Battle of the Books titles. Your goal should be to read all of the titles on your list. The more you read, the better your team will do!
Read at least 3 of the titles before the end of the first semester.
Get at least 3 out of 5 questions correct on each quiz for each of the titles you read.
Competition details:
From September 1- March: Read, read, read!
January: Form teams.
Late January: Begin formal practice.
PVES Competition: Time and date will be announced.
Anderson District One Competition: Time and date will be announced

Only open the quiz one time. If you have opened it more than once, that quiz will not count. Your email will be collected when you open the quiz, so there is no need to report your quiz grade. The QR codes for the quizzes are posted in the library. You must complete the quiz in the library.
