I love to teach because I love to learn.
I have my Bachelor's Degree in Outdoor Leadership with a dual emphasis in Natural Biology and Experiential Education from North Greenville University.
I have my Master of Arts in Teaching Middle Level Science from Converse College.
I have my STEAM certification from Clemson University and hope to pursue my PhD one day.
I believe that I am a "master student." Because I have learned a lot through my time in school, and my life experiences, I feel that it is my responsibility to pass that knowledge and wisdom on to future generations. Science has been a great tool for this purpose. My dad instilled a great sense of wonder in me concerning the natural world. When I look at the plants animals and the night sky, I constantly ask myself "How?" and "Why?" I hope to instill that same sense of wonder in my students.
My wife and I have been married since October of 2008 and work to build each other up by focusing on each other's strengths and being there in each other's weakness. She has taught me what it means to love. We like to swing dance and hope to get more into ballroom dancing soon.
My wife and I adopted a little boy from China in May of 2019. Levi is a bundle of joy who loves to explore the world and learn new things.
If you step foot in my classroom, you will see that I like to move. This carries over at home too. You would rarely find me sitting down unless I am resting after church. Either I'm working on some project around the house or off on an adventure in the woods.
I really enjoy running ultramarathons, hammock camping, SCUBA diving, attending the theater with my wife, working out in my garage, eating healthy (my kryptonite is chocolate), and leading excursions with youth and men's groups from my church.
