About Me
My name is Joe Whitham, and I am so excited to be the new PE teacher at Powdersville Elementary School! I have been actively involved in athletics my entire life. I played college baseball at Anderson University and graduated with a degree in kinesiology in 2004. I furthered my education by getting a master’s degree from Southern Wesleyan University in 2010. In addition to teaching PE for the last 15 years, I have also been coaching competitive archery for 3rd-5th grades as an after school club for the last 11 years. My wife, also a teacher, and I have three young boys (ages 6, 9, and 11) who keep us busy with baseball, soccer, hockey, swimming, and hiking together as a family. I believe in staying healthy and active through fun, cooperative activities. I look forward to this coming school year at PVES!
