Where possible, students’ learning should be linked to real world issues and needs.
Where possible, learning should be enquiry-based and be framed around rich questions that demand deep-study.
Local experts and organisations should be drawn in to enrich the experience of students.
Each term, students should prepare a public presentation/exhibition of their work.
For older groups this public celebration should sometimes go beyond the walls of the school.

Students are at the front and centre of the learning experience.
We build accountability into the mindsets of students so that they steadily take more and more responsibility for their learning.

We aim to build a cohesive vision focused on student achievement and continuous improvement. We align all school activities with that vision.
We use data wisely and shape school structures to best meet student needs, celebrate joy in learning, and build a school-wide culture of trust and collaboration.
Leadership in our schools goes beyond a single person or team; it’s a role and expectation for all.

We expect children to work hard and they expect it of themselves.
We work towards ever more independence, self-regulation and self-discipline as children move through school.
Our curriculum and school routines and structures support the development of high-self esteem and of service and compassion to others.

We aim to promote classrooms that are alive with discovery, inquiry, critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration.
Where teachers talk less and students talk (and think) more.
Lessons have explicit purpose, guided by learning targets for which students take ownership and responsibility.
We aim to differentiate instruction and maintain high expectations to bring out the best in all students, cultivating a culture of high achievement.
