Introduction

Welcome to Bookfolio: Book Value Scanner (the “App”), owned and operated by Appisode LLC (“Appisode,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the App and all associated services, features, and content. By downloading, installing, accessing, subscribing to, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

Bookfolio: Book Value Scanner provides users with AI-powered book identification and valuation tools, including:

Scanning book covers to identify titles, editions, and publishing details
Receiving estimated market values based on recent sales data
Cataloging and organizing personal book collections
Accessing insights about editions, rarity, and current demand trends

The App is designed for collectors, sellers, buyers, and enthusiasts who want quick and reliable information about their books. Market values displayed within the App are estimates only, based on available data sources, and may vary depending on book condition, demand, and other market variables.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.
By using the App, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
You may not use the App where prohibited by law.

Account Registration and Security

Some features require creating an account.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information and keep it updated.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You must notify Appisode immediately of any unauthorized use.
Appisode is not liable for damages resulting from failure to secure your account.

License Grant

Subject to these Terms, Appisode grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to use the App solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

Copy, modify, or redistribute the App or its content
Reverse engineer or attempt to access the App’s source code
Use the App for commercial appraisal services without permission
Upload unlawful or infringing content
Circumvent subscription or access controls

User Content

Submissions

The App may allow you to upload or store images, catalog entries, lists, notes, or other materials (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content.

License to Appisode

By submitting User Content, you grant Appisode a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, process, reproduce, display, and store your content solely to provide and improve the App.

Prohibited Content

You may not upload content that:

Violates intellectual property or privacy rights
Contains illegal, harmful, fraudulent, or offensive material
Includes personal data about others without consent
Contains malware, spam, or disruptive code

Appisode may remove content that violates these Terms.

Market Value Disclaimer

The App provides estimated market values for books based on recent sales data, public listings, and other available sources. You acknowledge that:

Values shown in the App are estimates only
Appisode does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or current validity of pricing
Actual prices may vary due to book condition, rarity, demand, or market fluctuations
The App is not a certified appraisal tool

You agree not to rely solely on App-generated values for financial, legal, insurance, or investment decisions.

Subscription and Payment Terms

Access to certain features requires a paid subscription.

Payment is charged to your app store account at purchase confirmation.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless turned off at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Renewal fees are charged within 24 hours before the current period ends.
You can manage or cancel your subscription via your device’s account settings.
If you subscribe before a free trial ends, the remaining trial period is forfeited.
Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Restrictions on Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for illegal or unauthorized purposes
Access the App using automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers)
Interfere with or disrupt App operations
Attempt to access Appisode systems without authorization
Modify or impersonate App data, statistics, or valuations

Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
APPISODE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

MERCHANTABILITY
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
ACCURACY OF MARKET VALUES
NON-INFRINGEMENT
RELIABILITY OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION

Appisode does not guarantee that:

The App will operate without interruption
Book identifications will always be accurate
Values will reflect actual market conditions
Errors will be corrected promptly
Third-party data sources will remain available

Use of the App is entirely at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Appisode shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, lost data, or incorrect valuation outcomes.
Appisode’s total liability arising from or related to your use of the App shall not exceed US $100.

Some jurisdictions may not allow certain limitations; in such cases, limitations apply to the maximum legally permitted extent.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Appisode, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) resulting from:

Your use or misuse of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any law or third-party rights
Your reliance on book valuations or identification results

Termination

Appisode may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in unauthorized use. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms immediately cease.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You consent to exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in California, US.

Communications

By using the App, you consent to receive electronic communications from Appisode. Notices may be delivered by email or in-App messages.

Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the complete agreement between you and Appisode.
Severability: Invalid provisions do not affect remaining terms.
No Waiver: Failure to enforce any right does not waive future enforcement.
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms; Appisode may assign without restriction.

Feedback

Any feedback or suggestions you provide may be used by Appisode without obligation or compensation.
