This document "Privacy Policy" (hereinafter referred to as "Policy") sets the terms and conditions for collection and use of the Personal Information of the User (hereinafter referred to also as "You") by Appisode LLC (hereinafter referred to as "Appisode") during download, installation, and use of the mobile application Bookfolio: Book Value Scanner (hereinafter referred to as the "Mobile application").

USER’S CONSENT

By downloading, installing, and using the Mobile application, you (hereinafter also referred to as "User") with your own free will give your written consent to the processing of Personal Information for the purposes and under the terms described in this Policy.

1. General Provisions

1.1. This Policy is an integral part of the End User License Agreement (EULA) for the Mobile application. By downloading, installing, and using the Mobile application, you fully accept the terms of this Policy.
1.2. Processing of Personal Information may include collection, recording, systematization, storage, updating, extraction, use, transfer, depersonalization, blocking, deletion, and destruction, with or without automated systems.
1.3. Terms not defined herein shall be interpreted in accordance with applicable laws and industry practice.

2. Personal Information

2.1. When using the Mobile application for its intended purpose, the User may provide certain information voluntarily. Appisode collects only the minimum amount of personal data required for the functionality of the app.

2.2. Personal Information includes:

2.2.1. User’s email (if the User subscribes to newsletters, customer support, or premium services).

2.2.2. Book photos uploaded or scanned by the User for identification, cataloging, or valuation.
These images are stored temporarily solely for AI processing and service improvement.

2.2.3. Collection & library metadata, including:

• manually entered book details,
  
  

• notes, tags, or custom categories,
  
  

• saved valuations and history.
  
  

2.2.4. Depersonalized technical data, automatically collected depending on device settings:

• device type and model,
  
  

• operating system,
  
  

• language, country (non-precise location),
  
  

• in-app activity,
  
  

• time, frequency, and duration of usage.
  
  

2.3. Third-party software usage

User acknowledges that third-party analytics or service SDKs may collect depersonalized information as part of the Mobile application’s operation.

2.4. Temporary image storage

Appisode may collect and store book cover images uploaded by the User for up to 7 days, solely for:

• AI model improvement,
  
  

• feature enhancement,
  
  

• error analysis.
  
  

These images are not used for marketing, profiling, or sale.

2.5. Accuracy of Information

Appisode does not verify the validity of Personal Information provided by the User and assumes the User acts in good faith.

3. Legal Basis of Processing

Appisode processes Personal Information based on:
3.1. User’s explicit consent;
3.2. Necessity to provide core app functionality (book identification, valuation, collection management).

4. Children’s Privacy

4.1. Appisode does not intentionally collect personal data from children under 16.
4.2. If such data is discovered, it will be deleted immediately.

5. Purposes of Processing Personal Information

Appisode may use Personal Information for the following:

6. User’s Rights

User has the right to:

7. Storage and Retention

7.1. Personal Information is stored only as long as necessary for app operation or legal compliance.
7.2. Book images uploaded for scanning are deleted automatically after 7 days, unless explicitly saved by the User in the app.
7.3. Upon account deletion or request, Appisode will remove Personal Information within a reasonable period.

8. Data Protection Measures

8.1. Appisode secures Personal Information from unauthorized access based on internal procedures.
8.2. Appisode maintains confidentiality and does not sell personal data.

9. Transfer of Personal Information

Appisode may transfer Personal Information only in these situations:

• with User’s explicit consent;
  
  

• to third-party service providers (analytics, cloud storage, email) necessary for app functionality;
  
  

• if Appisode transfers assets or undergoes acquisition;
  
  

• to comply with legal obligations or court orders;
