Welcome back! We are thrilled to welcome your students to APPA this month. The teachers, staff, and I are looking forward to a wonderful new year here in the building.


For those of you who are new, this is our monthly newsletter that goes out to all families. Please feel free to use it as a one-stop resource for resources, news, and information about the new school year.


In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to us here at the school with any questions or concerns. It’s going to be a great year!

Parent Portal

Please be sure to click here to register for the city's new Parent Portal. You will need your student's OSIS number to register. If you have any issues, please reach out to our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Williams, here at the school

Fall Festival -- Save the Date!

All parents and guardians are welcome to join us on the field for the annual APPA fall festival. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy carnival games, activities, and fun food -- all completely fee to celebrate the new year. Families may join the fun beginning at 1:30.


Middle School After School Program

All families of students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to participate in our completely free afterschool program. Run by the YMCA, students will engage in academic, enrichment, athletic, and other actives each day through to 6 pm. To register, see the flyer at left or click here!

High School Afterschool Program

We're excited to be able to offer the Afterschool Clubs listed at left! Students can sign up for clubs through this link Ms. Castillo sent them.

10th Grade Mentorship

This year, all 10th Graders will participate in a special mentorship program run by the organization Good Sheppard here at APPA. Through the program, sophomores will be matched with a mentor from the financial firm Ernst and Young. Students will meet regularly with there mentor and have the opportunity to participate in trips, events, and other meaningful experiences to build their sense of career readiness.

Students will sign up here at school.

Middle School Uniforms

Our middle school students look great in their black polo shirts and khaki bottoms. Please remember that while students must be in uniform every day, the uniforms with the school seal are optional. Plain black polo shirts and khaki bottoms are allowed.

Parents may purchase uniforms wherever they wish, including the Cookie's APPA Webstore.

Join our P.A. Meeting on September 28th @6PM to vote for your new P.A. President. YOUR VOTE COUNTS!
