When completing homework, we highly encourage students to complete the homework in their workbook first so you can have space to do any math work/note taking and also have a physical copy of your responses. After you complete the homework in your workbook, you may go ahead and go onto the Google Forms Bubble Sheets for your particular class and enter in your responses for that particular homework.
BE ON TIME
Please sign on and be in the Zoom classroom at least 10-15 minutes earlier than the start time of your class. For example, if you have class at 9:00 AM, you should be in your Zoom classroom by 8:45 AM or 8:55 AM THE LATEST.
DO NOT SIGN ON AT EXACTLY THE START TIME - it takes time for Zoom to connect, your video to load, and your audio to connect. By the time everything is connected and ready, 5-10 minutes has already passed and you missed a part of class time.
BATHROOM/DEVICES
Please make sure your device is charged and you go to the bathroom BEFORE class starts! If you go to the bathroom multiples during class, or if you have to run and grab your charger, you will be missing a lot of class time!
FIND A QUIET PLACE
Find a quiet place in your home to attend your classes - away from parents, siblings, pets or any distractions in general. We want you to be focused on your class and lesson the whole 3 hours you are with us.
BE RESPECTFUL
Even though classes are now online, the same conduct and behavior is expected just like in a classroom setting. Remember, what happens on the Internet will STAY ON THE INTERNET FOREVER.
DO NOT CALL OUT IN CLASS
Please use the "raise hand" function on Zoom to get your teacher's attention. It will be very disruptive to the class if you call out while the teacher and your classmates are speaking. After you click on the "raise hand" button on Zoom, wait for the teacher to call on you, before unmuting your mic.
NO EATING
Please refrain from eating during class time. It is distracting to yourself, your classmates and your teacher if they see your video as you munch away on food. However, you may drink liquids (water, juice, etc) but try to minimize the noises.
CAMERA/VIDEO MUST BE ON
Camera/video on is MANDATORY for classes. Having your camera and video on allows:
(1) the teacher to see you are paying attention to the lesson
(2) for the class monitor to take attendance and mark you here.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE WEBCAM CAPABILITIES, PLEASE EMAIL 710communications@aplusacademy.com AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO LET US KNOW.
ACTIVE CLASS PARTICIPATION
Please participate! You don't have to get the right answer every time but we would like for you to be involved in class and stay engaged. If your teacher calls on you, please reply even if it is to say "I'm not quite sure" that way the class can carry through and lets the teacher know.
