21/10/2019 Lamb and Calf Day

My lamb is called Jumpety because he likes to jump and frisk in his pen with the other lambs.

I feed my lamb three times a day. I give him special lamb milk. I give him 300mls a feed. We also feed him grain.

After school I play with my lamb and teach him to lead. He comes when I call especially if he is hungry. I like training my lamb. I am bringing my lamb to Apiti School Lamb and Calf day.

I brush my lamb daily. I like looking after my lamb.

Lamb and calf day was a bit wet to start with but it got sunny later on. My lamb came to me when I called it. I got a third for rearing. The ribbon was yellow. I enjoyed caring for my lamb.

I enjoyed making my indoor things. I got certificates for my decorated gumboot and my miniature scene and my lino prints. and my decorated vase and flower arrangement. I got a cup for my indoor work. My mum was very proud of me

I learnt how to make a mask and vase. Next year I will try harder with my miniature scene and plan it better.

Lino Printing

Yesterday Joe came to Apiti school to teach us about lino printing.

First we drew our pictures onto paper. Then we drew our picture onto lino and we cut around it with a v shaped tool. Next we rolled ink onto our prints. Then we put them in the presser to make our cards. We did four cards each. My print was a fantail because I like fantails.

I think the day was awesome.

My Speech

Do you know what an artichoke is ?

There are 2 kinds of artichokes. Jerusalem Artichokes and globe artichokes. I like both kinds of artichokes.

We eat the root of the Jerusalem artichoke .They grow like ginger.

We eat the bud of the globe artichoke. It grows like a thistle.

All vegetables are healthy because they contain the nutrition we need to stay healthy. I am going to tell you about artichokes.

Artichokes are very high in vitamin C .

21.8.19 Speech Reflection

I learnt my speech well but on the speech day I said my speech from where I was sitting.

Next year I will stand up and say my speech to everyone.

21st August 2019 Speech reflection

My topic was about artichokes. I found lots of information on line. Mum and I wrote the speech together. At first we had too much information so we had to make it shorter.

I felt very scared and I didnt want to stand so I read it sitting down. At first my voice was very soft but as I got into it my voice got louder. I was pleased that I completed it. I used my cards a lot and mostly read it.

Next time I want to feel confident and stand up to say my speech. I know I should look at my audience more and not rely all the time on my cards

I really enjoyed looking for information. Mum and Dad said they were proud of me/

The Production Of The Wizard of Oz

We are doing a production of the Wizard of oz at school to show our Mums and dads. We have been learning dances and songs.

I am looking forward to it.

My Best Thing at Camp

At our school camp at Green Pastures Camp, I made a raft with Sarah, Emily, Ava, Bently and Summer. Mrs I helped us and Julie.

Our raft floated but the other one broke because the containers fell off. They didn’t tie them on properly.

When our raft was on the water the drums went sideways which meant it would float. I didn’t break. It went to the middle of the lake. Sarah and Bently were on it. They paddled with long tall sticks.

I didn’t go on the raft because I didn’t want to but there was no room.

Then I went on the kayak. I had to learn how to do the paddles before I got on the kayak. . Adam showed me how to do it on the side. Then I went in the water, with my life jacket on.

I went fast on the kayak. I went on the white one. Adam helped me go into the water. I went into the reeds. Adam came and saved me . He took me out of the reeds and back onto the water. Adam was on a SUP.

It was best camp ever.

Dear Adam

Thank you for organising the kayaking

and SUPS . Thank you for coming on camp.

I like the kayaking best.

My Speech 2018

I like going to town with Mum and Dad and Edith. Usually we go to Feilding but sometimes we go to Palmerston North. At Christmas we are going all the way to Hamilton.

But it can be dangerous if you don’t follow the rules in town.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls my speech is about walking in town safely.

All kids should stay with an adult when they are in town like Mum or Dad. We go shopping to get food. I am careful in the car park because the cars are sometimes backing out and they might not see me. I hold hands to be safe.

Everyone should cross on a crossing and look both ways. In Palmerston North there are traffic lights. We only walk when we can see the green man.You have to walk fast but not run or you might trip over.

Be careful when you open the car door. Check to see no one is coming along the road or you might hit them with the door.

When you get out of the car go and stand on the footpath and wait for your parents.

I like going to town . Sometimes there are a lot of people walking on the footpath so I have to be careful and keep up with Mum and Dad or Grandma.

So I hope everyone is safe in town.
