Summary of Stream 

Our stream was entitled “5 Effective Ways to Achieve a Sustainable Lifestyle”. Our first livestream was all about ways we can live sustainably. Each speaker covers a different aspect of living sustainably. We aimed to raise awareness of sustainability and inspire our audience to incorporate these practices daily to live sustainably. To reach our target audience and inform viewers that we would be hosting a stream, we promoted it beforehand. After that, we attempted to work on setting up our broadcasting software. Unfortunately, we encountered some troubles while testing our stream which led us to switch our streaming platform from YouTube to Facebook, then we encountered some delays during our test drive though these things are normal our delays usually last 20 seconds long but eventually we were able to sort of reduce these delays we also did encounter some problems with the camera. Since we use this device for live streaming, both of these issues were fixed when I started to restart it. On the actual day of our live stream, we also encountered some minor problems at the start such as during the intro and some problems with the connection but overall we were able to execute the stream and continue as it is. The speakers were able to share ways how to live a sustainable lifestyle, the audio and camera were decent and we were able to have a meaningful discussion with the viewers. Overall the live stream was good although this is our first ever live stream while we still need to make some adjustments, we are happy that our live stream went smoothly despite a few minor problems that we were able to resolve. and we can garner some feedback from our audience. These feedbacks we’ll be able to utilize and imply on our next live stream.

Strengths of Our Stream

To begin with the strengths of our stream, even though this was the first time hosting a live stream on a social media platform, the live stream went more smoothly than expected with minor technical difficulties and other obstacles we had to deal with during our live stream. We were successful in accomplishing our livestream through our hardship and determination hence, we deemed it as one of our strengths in our stream. Reviewing the feedback form answered by our viewers at the live stream, many of the viewers find our stream helpful to them and we deem this as one of the strengths of the stream. Next is the arrangement of the live stream which is also a strength and it helps the stream feel more proper and organized whilst also giving the viewer an easy and fun experience during the live stream. Secondly, our stream was able to interact with the viewers with critical thinking questions and clarification to make them better understand the topic.

Lastly, we received positive feedback from the viewers of the live stream, with viewers stating that the stream was enlightening and informative to watch and listen to with a clear understanding of the topic, which is one of the stream's strengths. Despite the positive feedback, some feedback pointed out the problems of the stream and suggestions to improve the stream, this feedback is to be reviewed to further improve the quality of life of our viewers during the live stream.

Areas of Opportunities for Our Stream

The researchers indeed successfully executed their first-ever live stream however, of course, the first time also means it needs some improvements.  The researchers expected and prepared themselves if ever improvements for the stream were needed, with the help of the Feedback Form,  Researchers and streamers were able to gather not only our ideas and suggestions but also our viewers' suggestions and ideas on what to improve in our stream. Viewers have noticed that the streamers are lacking in interactions with each other which can sometimes happen during the live with the audience, Interactions with the co. streamer and audience need to be improved in the next live stream. Streamers have noticed that some of the members were struggling to execute their parts during the stream results stuttering etc. Streamers are encouraged to have a script by their side in case a struggle occurs during the next live. Errors were found during the stream such as poor internet connection, poor video quality, camera quality, music that wasn't functioning properly, and microphone quality. We are expecting the team to improve the technical issues they were encountering from the last stream. We will perform multiple stream testing to make sure that everything needed for the live stream will work well while the second live stream is starting. We’ve also noticed that some of our members lacked awareness regarding their actions and words during the stream. We are expecting our members to keep reminding themselves to show respect not only to our viewers but also to the other members whether the stream is ongoing or not. We will encourage the members to keep in mind turning off their mics when someone is speaking and while they are not speaking to avoid distraction in both points of view of streamers and viewers. 

Analysis of the Engagement of Our Viewers 

In the first part of the stream, we shared and tackled what is a sustainable lifestyle and its significance, this is to introduce the content and what to expect throughout the whole live stream. Then after introducing sustainable lifestyle to our audience, we proceeded to discuss the ways and habits on how we can achieve a sustainable lifestyle which is the main objective. Throughout the live stream, the speakers discuss how we can incorporate these ways into our everyday lives and share their personal stories related to the topic being discussed. Each speaker also shared their perspectives regarding the topic which turned out to be insightful to the viewers and helped them comprehend the topic.

Though we have some interactions with the viewers while our livestream is occurring, there is still not much contact between the speakers and the audience. This is all pointed out in our feedback form. To enhance audience and speaker interaction during the discussion, we are urged to ask a more open-ended and broad question. Most of the time, the speakers also didn’t open their cameras while the live stream was still ongoing, this also affected the overall performance of the stream.

Analysis of the Viewership of Our Stream  

Due to the number of issues that arose throughout the stream and some of our plans and steps being unsuccessful, our success rate was 60% victory and the remaining percentage of 40% was our loss. Despite the few initial problems we encountered that the team needed to improve, we finished the stream and executed it just as we planned. The intro of the stream took us a while to acknowledge the issues, so we had to pause for a moment to figure out the issue and fix it. Some of us were encountering technical difficulties such as a microphone, camera quality and angle, and internet connection, but we somehow were able to work on the issues and managed to proceed to work on our parts until the very end. Furthermore, the audience and streamers were given a way to freely express their thoughts regarding our stream and each audience got a special shout-out. After the shout-out, we carefully introduced ourselves one by one and introduced what topics and tips had to be expected and discussed. After the introduction, we then take turns discussing the main subjects that are assigned to us to present and explain to the audience. After the discussion, we then happily and openly asked and encouraged our audience to freely express their thoughts and leftover opinions regarding the discussion and the stream itself, before we did our closing remarks for our stream, we reminded them to answer the Feedback Form to get their overall comments, suggestions, thoughts, and opinions about the stream.
