Helping Dreams Take Flight: APEC Schools' Learning Pods

On November 8, 2024, APEC Schools Bacoor students gathered to participate in the highly anticipated Student Learning PODS, an initiative designed to foster knowledge, skills, and personal development. Since its launch, the PODS program—Passion, Opportunities, and Development Sessions—has aimed to empower students with essential life skills and boost their confidence as they prepare for the future.
This year’s lineup featured a range of relevant and insightful topics. The day’s sessions included Mental Health Awareness by Prof. Mary Grace Demetillo, College Preparations and Readiness by Ms. Len, Employment Readiness by Sir Adi, Income-Generating Pursuits by Ms. Larielyn, Online Education led by Zoe Madison Blanco, and Digital Arts by Ms. Francine. These sessions, conducted by experienced facilitators, ensured that students were inspired and ready for their next steps.
A Day Packed with Learning and Engagement
Kicking off the event at 9:00 a.m., Ms. Leonilyn Ariola led a “College Readiness and Preparations” session, offering Grade 12 students practical advice on college applications, entrance exams, and what to expect in higher education. Her insights, drawn from personal experience, made the session informative and engaging.
Next, Zoe Madison Blanco, Amplify’s Editor-in-Chief for Writing, shared her experiences in online education. As a seasoned online learner at APEC Schools, Zoe provided valuable perspectives on managing virtual studies, drawing on her years of experience in distance learning.
By 10:00 a.m., Sir Adi took the stage to cover Employment Readiness. He guided students on pursuing careers aligned with their skills and long-term goals. His session emphasized essential job search techniques, resume building, and interview preparation, offering practical advice to help students navigate the competitive employment landscape.
