A Standing Ovation: Celebrating the Commitment of Bar Exam Takers
By Jean Ashlee Viktoria Zervoulakos
With the increasing number of crimes and legal sins, what will we do without the levers of justice?
Each year, the bar exam stands firm with its values; A formidable key for future lawyers. At its core, it serves as a test of resilience, wisdom, and the willingness to serve the Filipino people with a heart of gold, and the eye of a storm.
The bar exam also serves as a testament to the years of hard work and dedication, as if driving law students to the brink of exhaustion is not enough, minding that the only value they hold is the will to fight for what is right, and be the social worker the Philippines oh-so yearns to hold dear amidst the chaos and entropy of it all.
With the pivotal day creeping its way into calendars, students give their blood, sweat, and tears of months, if not years of intense studying all while balancing a myriad of responsibilities where routines do not include a complete breakfast, but merely a cup of black coffee over law books.
This only shows how even when shrouded in fatigue and uncertainty, our aspiring Filipino Lawyers will do anything to shape the world of injustice, pointing out crimes after crimes, extending out a helping hand to those in need, and providing a safe space for the Filipino to put their trust.
Their dedication not only underscores their resilience but also reflects a deep-rooted will to shape an ill-fed society, where injustice prevails and fairness is only served to the plates of marbled plates.
As our law students embark on their journey into the world of legal matters and court events, they, too, stand firm with the advocacy of equality, ready to serve as the levers of justice, guided by the passion of laughter and marked safety of the people. Mabuhay, future lawyers!
