Immaculate Conception: A Holy Day of Obligation

The Feast of Immaculate Conception is very important, a great feast in the Catholic religion. It is believed that the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus was conceived without original sin, and this feast is celebrated every December 8th. This feast makes a special mark on Catholic hearts as a day to celebrate the purity of the Mother of Jesus.
The Feast of Immaculate Conception reminds us of the special role of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s in the Catholic Church. As the mother of Jesus, Mary is called the “Mother of God” and it is honored as a symbol of grace, purity, and devotion to God.
Over the past centuries, the feast has assumed different meanings, some people believing that this day marks her actual birthday. While celebrating the Immaculate Conception in 1935, the Pope made a traditional visit to the Column of Immaculate Conception in Piazza di Spagna. He prayed for the grace of guilt and to beg for sins committed in the past years. This symbolic act serves a reminder of the importance of the feast day and the role played by Virgin Mary in the Catholic faith.
However by the Universal Norms on the Liturgical Year and the calendar, this feast is transferred to another date because if the feast falls on Sunday, the feast is transferred to the next Monday, including the United States and certain other countries wherein attendance at the Mass is non-transferable, but under the Rubrics Code of 1960-really over which still followed by some, gives priority of Feast over an Advent Sunday.
This is really the Feast Day, which is made gloomy and happy by the Catholics of the entire world. Liturgies particularly note that day and by prayers, devotion and remembrance of Virgin Mary. Families and friends come together for this very special church service entertaining together at cultural traditions like sharing gifts and eating customary dishes. It is high time now that we all partake of that and enjoy its being a time of reflection and honoring in the morality and devotion of the Virgin Mary, as well as a good excuse to make some fond memories.
In conclusion, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception will be an important day for Catholics the world over as it honors the purity and holiness of the Mother of Jesus, the Virgin Mary. Through years, this feast has taken different meanings, it has now proclaimed as a day to attend special church services
