Guitar - Rock Band Workshop

Description:

No ukuleles allowed! Just kidding! For the Guitar Class, You'll learn chords and strum patterns - rock, pop. All levels of ability are welcome, whether you've never played or have some experience. If you are more advanced, we will have a Rock Band workshop for the second week. If you sing, play guitar, electric bass, or drums this is for you! We will be ensemble songs and reviewing the fundamentals of playing together as a Rock Band ***Students must bring their instruments from home; a capo and electronic tuner are required.

Yearbook

Description:

Ever wondered how a yearbook is made? In this hands-on Winterim course, students will learn how to interview, take photos, write, design, and edit their own yearbook pages. Students will get a behind-the-scenes look at the yearbook process while creating pages that capture the people, events, and memories of their school year.

Diamond Art

Description:

DIAMOND ART  also known as "Diamond painting," is a hand craft that allows you to create beautiful works of art using crystal beads by adhering them to a fabric canvas. Diamond Art is halfway between traditional cross-stitch embroidery and paint by numbers allowing you to create a "painting" in relief from thousands of rhinestones! The final outcome is a sparkly, long lasting piece of art that can be framed!

Winter Musical

This course is a required course for students who have auditioned and been accepted into the winter musical.

Intro to Tech Theater and Stage Craft

Description:

This class is open to all, but is specifically designed for 7th & 8th graders who want an introduction to technical theatre and stagecraft. We will learn basic building and painting skills, including using power drills and tools. We will be having a lot of fun helping build some of the set for the upcoming musical.

Acting for Film

Step into the spotlight! This course introduces students to the exciting world of film acting. Unlike stage performance, film acting requires an awareness of the camera’s unique perspective. Students will learn how to bring characters to life through scene work and improvisation games, and learn the skills to film on-camera self-tape auditions.

Looking for a way to unwind, de-stress, and tap into your inner artist? Welcome to Masterpiece in Progress! Whether you consider yourself a total beginner or an experienced artist, this class is all about kicking back, listening to good music, and bringing a blank canvas to life—one color at a time. Using guided paint-by-number canvases, you’ll learn how a blank canvas can turn into something beautiful without any of the stress of starting from scratch. Grab a paintbrush, pick your palette, and leave class with a high-quality masterpiece ready to hang on your wall!

Do YOU want to improve your VOCAL skill? Or your ACTING??? Well then this is the place for you. Join us in this immersive musical theater audition prep class to create your own portfolio to nail any audition. By the end of the course you will have learned a contemporary ballad, contemporary comedic, and classical solo pieces as well as a dramatic and comedic monologue. You will have practice performing in front of others and managing your stage fright. Not only that, but you will learn how to provide positive peer support and feedback, so we can all grow TOGETHER in a healthy artistic community. Additionally, throughout our time we will discuss the history of musical theater in America and some of the greatest musical theater performers and composers.


The course fee covers the purchase of audition materials (sheet music).

Spin into Action: Introduction to Colorguard

If you’ve ever watched a marching band performance and noticed the performers who bring the music to life through dance, colorful flags, and dramatic equipment choreography—that’s the Color Guard! Known as the "Sport of the Arts," Color Guard combines elements of dance with athletic equipment handling (flags, wooden rifles, and sabres) to create visually stunning visual art on the field and stage.


This course is designed for beginners who want to explore a unique fusion of dance, athleticism, and performance art. No prior dance or guard experience is required—just bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to try something new.

Start getting ready for the Solo & Ensemble Region Festival. We will be rehearsing and giving you practice tips on how to prepare for Region and State Festivals. We will work on your solo piece and also chamber music with small ensembles. For our field trip, we are going to visit the Leonardo Museum.

The Ancient and Modern Art of Mosaic and Collage

This class will explore the art forms of mosaic and collage throughout history into the modern day. Students will get the opportunity to discover the depths of their own creativity by crafting collage and mosaic pieces to display at the end of Winterim. Students need no particular skills or experience to do well in this class! Mosaics and collages are relaxing, calming and meditative to assemble. This class will be both fun and relaxing!
